Hiruma the Commander from Hell, from Eyeshield 21 and Marceline the Vampire Queen, from Adventure Time. 

This is something I noticed when I just started reading Eyeshield 21, but many months after I finished it, I see more similarities. 

First the obvious: pointed ears, fangs, tricksters, wild hair, enjoy messing around with others, have a different kind of morality than most people, bad tempered, genuinely good guys underneath it all, and overall fan-favorites. 

A more subtle detail: both have issues with their respective fathers. While Marceline’s problems are shown directly, even in flashback form, Hiruma is hinted to have an estranged relationship with his dad, and wants to dissociate himself from him. Plus, both characters are shown as being kind of disturbed and creepy from a very young age. 

But the one that made me realize it was their relationships with other characters. Marceline teases but otherwise likes Finn and Jake, not unlike how Hiruma treats the team (he’s much more violent and callous though), and their respective relationships with girls who are their polar opposites.  

Marceline has very   slashy interactions with Princess Bubblegum, most notably in her song, and in the end they both become much closer, whether you see it as just friendly or something more (it IS a kids’ show after all), after spending so much time antagonizing each other. Hiruma’s “enemies-turned-allies-turned-friends-turned-something more” relationship with Mamori is a very interesting and sweet part of the series, even if it’s quite subtle and never gets completely resolved, but we can make a fair guess. ^^

Lastly, the pairing of Marceline/Bubblegum among fans is Sugarless Gum. Hiruma only likes chewing sugarless gum. Mmmm….

hahaha that’s very interesting & pretty cool. They’re both characters of totally different series.

The only thing about the YoiMamo ship is that at least they ended up at the same college :3
