Manga: brief yet inspiring sequence of intense action ending in cheer-worthy full-page spread.

Anime: MAGICAL GREEN TORNADO FUSION.  Sena dashes up to help Monta (glowing green, as per usual), and then they clasp hands dramatically (Monta now shares the green aura!), curl themselves around the ball, and—

—start…spinning.  They then proceed to turn into a green whirlwind that blows away all of Oujo’s defenders and somehow dumps them in the Oujo endzone.

And, yes, I won’t deny it was gayer even than Sakuraba and Takami’s extra scene in the rain for episode 37.  And they were sharing an umbrella.  (I’ll do that one later, I guess.  After I sleep.)

The really painful bit, of course, is that it was all animated by the one good artist on staff, so everyone’s faces and musculature is so much better than usual but the sequence is just utterly bizarre.  I mean, look at those reaction shots!  They’re lovely!  Or at least, compared to the usual fare.

like, they didn’t need to re-affirm “I knew you’d come” AFTER the whole “power of friendship tornado” display, when all the manga had to do was draw the right expressions. :DDD
